Comedian Tannah, also known as Mr. Broken English, has expressed his intention to contribute to the “Mavyete Malawi Food Relief” initiative, which aims to raise funds from Malawians in the U.S. to provide food for those suffering due to economic instability in Malawi.

In a recent phone interview, Tannah did not reveal the exact amount he plans to donate but made it clear that he fully supports JB’s efforts.

“This is a positive initiative, especially given the current circumstances Malawi is going through,” Tannah said, praising JB for her dedication to addressing community challenges through live videos and actionable steps. He described JB as a beacon of hope during these difficult times.

While Tannah acknowledged the immediate relief the initiative would offer to those facing hunger, he also emphasized the need for long-term solutions to the root causes of Malawi's struggles. He pointed to issues like corruption, ineffective governance, and ingrained mindsets as significant barriers. “We can’t just put a Band-Aid on a deep wound,” he cautioned.

Tannah also expressed concern over the country’s declining infrastructure, reflecting on how Malawi once boasted one of the best airlines in Africa but now faces widespread decay in key sectors. He highlighted how failures often compound, adding to the country’s many struggles.

Concluding his remarks, Tannah stated that the success of the initiative will be judged by its impact. He believes that if the need persists, similar projects should be regularly implemented. “Where there’s a will, there’s a way,” he said, underlining the importance of continued support for initiatives that aim to alleviate the hardships many Malawians face.
