On Sunday, February 2, Kendrick Lamar entered the 67th annual Grammy awards with 17 career victories. That sum was greatly increased by the Compton, California rapper, whose 2024 song "Not Like Us" peaked at number one on the charts and garnered five awards out of five nominations. Song of the Year, Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance, and Best Music Video Record of the Year were all awarded by the L.A. anthem.

Kendrick Lamar secured the first three victories at a premiere ceremony before to the commencement of the biggest night in music with his vicious diss song directed at Drake. Producer Mustard accepted golden gramophones for Kendrick's song "Not Like Us" in the Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance, and Best Music Video categories at the pre-show.

As the awards ceremony came to an end, pop sensation Miley Cyrus revealed that "Not Like Us" had won Record of the Year from the Recording Academy. Kendrick Lamar personally approached the stage to accept the prize with Mustard in tow, without ever being seen on camera before that night. After thanking his recently deceased aunt Sharon and praising Dr. Dre a West Coast legend, Kendrick dedicated his huge victory to his hometown of Los Angeles.

"We're going to dedicate this one to the city," Kendrick declares.
