Patience Namadingo proved his worth at the launch of the Saulos Klaus Chilima Foundation last night, delivering a powerful performance that left many in tears. The event, held at BICC in Lilongwe, was attended by top dignitaries, including President Lazarus Chakwera and Vice President Michael Usi.

Before the event, some people had criticized Namadingo for charging K10 million per show, questioning whether he was worth the price. However, his performance last night proved them wrong. With his smooth, soulful voice, he sang Tikamadzapita in an acoustic set, backed by two guitarists and a keyboardist.

What made his performance even more touching was the freestyle section he added, reflecting on the sudden passing of Vice President Saulos Chilima. One emotional line, “We watched Chilima put on a rosary,” deeply moved the audience, bringing tears to the eyes of Mary Chilima, the late VP’s widow.

The moment was powerful, and when Namadingo finished his set, the crowd erupted into applause, with claps filling the hall in appreciation of his talent.

Other artists, including Driemo, also performed at the event, but it was Namadingo’s heartfelt tribute that stood out.

Namadingo, who rose to fame 13 years ago with his hit song Mtendere, once again showed why he is one of Malawi’s top artists. His performance was a reminder that actions speak louder than words, silencing those who doubted his worth.
