Malawian Reggae Artists Return from Jamaica with New Insights
Malawian reggae artists Born Afrikan, Blasto, Don Tarz, Kellie Divine, and Anne Matumbi have returned from performing at Jamaica's Reggae Month celebrations with valuable experiences and global connections.
Blasto shared that performing in Jamaica deepened his understanding of reggae and boosted his confidence as an artist. "Experiencing the culture firsthand certified my skills," he said.
Don Tarz praised Jamaica's organized music industry, highlighting the need for Malawian artists to build confidence and improve grooming to reach international standards.
Team leader Matumbi expressed hope that the trip would inspire local artists to pursue global recognition, saying, "We are capable of standing on big stages."
