Multi-award-winning dancehall star Malinga has downplayed ongoing tensions with fellow artist Mady P, asserting that he is only interested in diss tracks that offer financial benefits.

Speaking on the JAAKEV Show hosted by Kelvin Ngumuya, Malinga made it clear that responding to Mady P’s explicit remarks would be a waste of time. He emphasized that profitable exchanges with trending artists like Sean Morgan and Chizmo Njuchi would be more worthwhile.

“Gone are the days when we did things just for fun,” Malinga stated. “Responding to such tracks is like throwing good money after bad.”

He noted that engaging in diss tracks should have a clear business advantage. “If Chizmo or Sean Morgan disses me, I can quickly respond and hit the studio back-to-back because we can monetize that, considering their level of fame. But with Mady P, what would I gain from doing a diss?”

Malinga further stressed the importance of strategic choices in the music industry, saying, “Trending without monetization is stupidity.”

His comments come after Mady P made several critical remarks about Malinga in an interview on Podcast Malawi last year, where he referred to him as “mfana” (child).

However, Malinga’s recent statements suggest he is focused on elevating his brand through calculated and profitable moves, steering clear of fruitless feuds.
