Miss Heritage Malawi is set to return on April 5 at Amaryllis Hotel in Blantyre after a year-long break. The pageant, paused to allow organiser Maddie Mkuwu Soko to mourn her father, aims to celebrate Malawi’s cultural heritage and empower young women.
Soko, the CEO and national director, said this year's edition features improved sponsorship and sustainable structures for a better contestant experience. The selection process, aligned with a mental health awareness theme, selected 10 finalists from 46 applicants.
The pageant is rebranding as Vision Pageantry, expanding its scope beyond beauty to include participation in international conferences and cultural exchange programs.
Current titleholder Mwaiwathu Khupe highlighted her advocacy work during her reign and encouraged young women to participate, describing the pageant as a life-changing platform for empowerment and networking.
