Nigerian Actors Partner with Fama to Boost Malawi's Film Industry

Renowned Nigerian actors Charles Awurum Charles Inojie, and Nkeiruka Sylvanus have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Film Association of Malawi (Fama) to collaborate on movie production and support local industry growth.

The MoU, signed at Bingu International Convention Centre in Lilongwe, follows a K40 million partnership between the Shepherd Bushiri Foundation (SBF) and Fama. The agreement focuses on knowledge-sharing, capacity-building, and promoting Malawian filmmakers.

Charles Inojie emphasized their commitment, urging Fama to maximize the opportunity for industry growth. "If Fama succeeds, Malawi will succeed," he said.

SBF founder Shepherd Bushiri highlighted the partnership's role in elevating Malawi's film sector, saying it would expose local talent to new markets.

Fama president Dorothy Kingston expressed gratitude, adding, "This partnership will open doors for capacity building and new markets for Malawian productions."
