Pemphero Mphande to Produce Documentary on Giddes Chalamanda

Social media personality Pemphero Mphande has announced plans to produce a documentary on Giddes Chalamanda, following the veteran musician’s recovery from a recent hospital stay. Mphande shared that Chalamanda, who was hospitalized last week, is now improving and plans to document his life and career once he is fully recovered.

Mphande encouraged potential sponsors and directors to reach out for the project. Emmanuel Maliro, an art enthusiast, expressed support for preserving Chalamanda’s legacy, highlighting his significant contributions to Malawi's music scene.

Chalamanda, active since the 1960s, is renowned for his early recordings on Malawi Broadcasting Corporation’s Radio One and later performances with the acoustic duo Edgar ndi Davis.
