Vice-President Usi Stars in Short Film with Nigerian Actors

Malawi’s Vice-President Michael Usi has featured in a short film alongside Nigerian actors Charles Awurum, Charles Inojie, and Nkiru Sylvanus.

Titled Malawi Virus, the film follows Manga (Usi), a Malawian footballer in Nigeria who gets romantically involved with another man’s wife. This leads to a police report, where bribery and law enforcement challenges unfold.

The project, initiated by Usi after meeting the actors at Shepherd Bushiri’s birthday celebration, aims to strengthen Malawi’s film industry. SBF publicist Aubrey Kusakala clarified that the film is not yet complete and urged fans to await the final version.

Nigerian actor Awurum encouraged Malawians to use film as a tool to tell their own stories. Fans have praised the production, with many calling for more such collaborations.
